Very rare Samurai archer glove storage bag , made from a deer skin and decorated with family crest of Matsumae samurai clan , a branch of famous Takeda clan. Strategically positioned in the north, clan often dealt with local Ainu tribes as well as Russian envoys , trying to establish trade with Japan in 18th century. Late Edo period , 18-19 th century. Size: 9/9/30 cm (3.5/3.5/11.8inch). Well made and in exceptionally well preserved state.
