For sale to you this RARE Very Large Handmade Japanese IKEBANA BAMBOO FLOWER BASKET, cradle shaped with handle, solid in construction, weighty and robust. 51 cm x 56 cm x 41 cm, the size makes it very practical for working storage in either contemporary or traditional surroundings. Listed as used, the Basket was bought then store.

There is some wear on the base and corners, these I have tried to capture in the photos which make up part of the description. Traditionally the sign of wear is not covered.

Japanese Ikebana Baskets are a type of decorative woven basket made from bamboo. Originally crafted by fishermen and farmers as beautiful useful holders, eg fish and fruit, later became popular as folk art used in tea ceremonies and for floral displays. Ikebana baskets come is two patterns LOOP and MOON. This basket is more loop than moon. I try to describe all items honestly, my apologies if I overlooked something.
