For sale here is this very rare and special antique oil lamp in the Victorian Japonisme style. It is complete with its etched Cranberry glass shade, glass chimney, carved wood stand and spare wick. This highly unusual and impressive lamp dates from the late Victorian period, when there was a huge interest in (and fashion for) Japanese art and artifacts. Please note that this lamp is a superior quality and beautifully designed item. The font is made from quality, heavily embossed brass. The Japanese body of the lamp is made from dark hardwood, which is intricately carved with lotus flower pods, with a quality, thick brass base. The lamp also comes with its original carved wood stand.

The cranberry glass shade is etched with lilies and scrolling foliage. It is in very good condition, with the usual tiny nicks around the aperature (which measures just under 5 inches). The carved stand is 8 1/2 inches in diameter. The lamp measures approximately 20 inches high to the top of the chimney (12 inches high to the top of the burner). It is in overall excellent antique condition and looks fantastic!

I use large bubble and strong boxes to pack. Couriered packages of ceramics/glass/ antiques/ clocks cannot at present be insured for damage. Antique items are generally free of import duty in most countries, but please check the regulations where you are.
