INRO Rare Japanese antique Edo period
INRO is a small container for carrying medicine in the 15th to 16th centuries in Japanese history. From around 1850, the technology improved and it developed as a work of art. It is a traditional art piece that Japan is proud of. This work depicts a carp. The appearance of a carp climbing a waterfall is an auspicious design in Japan because it has the meaning of "having momentum" and "getting ahead in life".
