Heavy Enameled Foo Dog Japanese Vase Meiji Era with Very Rare Bat Handles. This is a very rare unusual Japanese aesthetic movement vase showing 2 foo dogs among a floral background of mustard yellow. It is very heavily enameled and has to me the shape of a volcano. In very good condition It does have a little bit of inside wear and a very tiny bit of outside wear plus a very tiny bit of light age crazing. All hand painted the brown with black foo dogs look like they are hunching down looking for something.
The forest green bat handles are flush against its sides and the branches are a pale blue green with navy blue and dark brown flowers. The same dark green is used on the inside. Size is about 10T with a 5.42 diameter. The item "Heavy Enameled Foo Dog Japanese Vase Meiji Era Very Rare With Bat Figural Handles" is in sale since Tuesday, November 16, 2021.
