Rare and unique early Samurai armor storage chest, Yoroi Bitsu. Extremely well made and in a decent condition considering it age and extensive usage. Simple and yet beautiful iron hardware with naturally developed patination.Two leather straps with printed design are attached to the box. Box was carried by the samurai lord attendants in a back pack fashion. With expected abrasions and losses due to a very significant age.. Some minor stabilizing repairs had been made , including temporary replacement of two legs. Age:Momoyama- early Edo period , circa 16-17th century. 45/40cm(17.5 x 16.1inch), 8.7kg.
